Ten Days in Colorful, Floral Guatemala
I had the opportunity to visit Guatemala in January of 2022 to see two close friends tie the knot. We flew into Guatemala City, traveled to Antigua for the wedding, and then traveled to Panajachel on Lake Atitlan. We then traveled back to Antigua the night before our flight to explore a little bit more. Guatemala is filled with so much color and history with beautiful landscapes and architecture throughout the country. Although I only saw a small part of what Guatemala has to offer, I was overwhelmed with the natural flora of each of these places, as if stopping something from growing there would be an impossible act. There was a constant relationship between the natural and built environments. On top of all of this, everywhere you looked there was color exploding in your face. From the tilework in the homes to the flowers growing in the alleys, to the blue haze the mountains have that reminds me of home.
I traveled to Guatemala with my Hasselblad, five rolls of 120 film, and my digital camera. Here, I have highlighted eighteen of my favorite photos from my trip.
Thank you for taking the time to look at the images from my trip to Guatemala! Below I have all of the images from each of the five rolls of film and the digital gallery from the trip. If you would like to purchase a print that is not currently available in the print shop, please email me at info@caseylee.photography.
Each film image was created with a Hasselblad 500 C/M on Kodak color 120mm film. The film was processed and scanned by Pro Camera in Charlottesville, Virginia. The digital images were created with a Nikon D810 and a 50mm 1.4 lens.
